CHRISTMAS DINNER AND AWARDS NIGHT.

Postby Simon » Sun Sep 07 2014 17:04

It may seem a long way off but It would be a good idea to start looking for a suitable venue for our Christmas bash! Ideally we need a venue that has a function room that will cater for 30-40 people, probably with a set Christmas menu or similar.
Venue needs to be in a location that is situated centrally and is not too far for members to travel to.I imagine it would be best to host this on a Friday or Saturday night and these will get booked up early. I would ask that you all do a little research into venues near where you live and get back to me on this post.

many thanks, Simon.

I'd be happy with somewhere in Brighton. Are we after traditional Christmas food?

Not sure Rich, seemed the obvious choice but I guess we can do whatever we want.

I'd say brighton, HH or lewes would be best as there is public transport and near to everyone so allows for a beer or six.

Not many suggestions landing on my doorstep yet lads. I have just contacted The Partridge in Partridge Green, awaiting dates, but it's somewhere we can all drive to and pick up cars from the following day. Also it's a Dark Star pub so the beer is good. :D

If you haven't already notified me that you wish to attend then please do so, it's hard to make a booking without accurate numbers.

The New Inn in Hurst is quite good mostly. Short can ride from Hassocks station. Plenty of parking down by Washbrooks if people want to drive and cycle to pick up the car next day...

The New Inn isn't a bad shout (all back to Doug's after?) There's also the White Horse in Ditchling which is quite good. There's also the Bull in Ditchling, but that might be a wee bit "poncey"

I have made a provisional booking at The Partridge (partridge Green) for Friday 12th December for our Christmas dinner. It means we can have the whole dining area to ourselves which will be great. I am awaiting menus.

The 19th is free. As Will puts a lot of time and effort into the club I think he should be present.
I therefore propose we move out Christmas bash to the 19 th.

I have received the Christmas menu from the Partridge which I have attached. For ease of ordering I think it would be good if we could all stick to this menu. I think it sounds okay and is fairly reasonable.

I need to pay a deposit of £5 per person to confirm the booking. 19th December.
So far I have the following as definites.

Simon and Jo
Carl and George
Richard + 1
Mike + 1
Jimmy
Will
Jez
Andy + 1
Tom + 1
Charlie
Stephen + 1
Doug + 1
Peter
Matt + 1

Forgive the lack of partners names, please either let me have your deposit by cash or I can send you my bank details by whats app.

Please make sure you have sent me your deposits for the Christmas Dinner and Awards night. It's not too late if you wish to attend in fact the more the merrier. I want to make sure we have enough people to guarantee we have the whole restaurant area.
